Adding Your First Application
A job application is a job you’re tracking through Nico — from draft to applied to offer. This page is about creating one.Don’t confuse it with a job posting — an open role in Nico’s shared index that you discover through Job Search. You add an application when you want to track a specific job; you search postings when you’re looking for roles to apply to.
Add an application manually
- Click New Application on the dashboard or applications page
- Paste the job posting URL and click Next — Nico reads the page and prefills the form with the job title, company, location, work mode, salary, and more
- Review the prefilled details and update anything that needs correcting
- Click Save
Receive proposals from AI
If you’ve connected an AI agent (via MCP, CLI, or Claude Code skill), it can add applications for you:- The agent searches for matching roles — in Nico’s index and across job boards
- It adds them to your board as Proposed applications
- You review the proposals on your kanban board
- For each proposal, you can:
- Move to Draft — Start preparing your application
- Apply directly — Mark it as applied immediately
- Withdraw — Dismiss the proposal
